How to take care of your lover?

The obvious one is to go out and get some flowers. But do it right - paint them in your partner's favorite color, place a note inside, buy them specifically to remind them how much you adore them, and give them to them when they least expect it.

Purchase some chocolates, but only those that your lover enjoys. As a surprise, place them in their office desk drawer or in the glove compartment of their automobile.

Organize a romantic getaway for them. A brief respite for the two of you. We have hundreds of luxury cottages for couples, ranging from charming thatched retreats in the romantic Cotswolds to wild and majestic escapes along Scotland's north shores.

Take a lengthy walk. This one is simple, but simply getting out of the house can help to clear the cobwebs and spend quality time together.

Make something for them to eat. Something you've never built before for them — from the ground up. Nigel Slater's recipes are one of our favorites. Hugh, for example. To be honest, we simply enjoy nice cuisine.

Make today a movie night. One of the ancient masterpieces should be watched. Why not have a brief encounter?

Make a meaningful letter to them. This has to be one of the most romantic activities available. Explain why they are important to you, what they have done for you, and how you feel about them.

Bring them out to the dance floor. I believe that everyone, deep down, enjoys dancing. It should be a nice occasion, with no shady nightclub RnB. It makes no difference if you're both hopeless. Go salsa dancing, learn one dance, shuffle, and then spend the rest of the night laughing about it.

Invite your pals to come over. A get-together has a very heartwarming quality about it. Generosity brings out the best in everyone and being generous as a group will remind you what it means to work together.

Inquire about how you can assist. Their problems are now your problems, and simply reminding them of this can be really helpful. This is subtly romantic, and they will remember it.

Take a picnic.

Show them your favorite vantage point.

Tell them about your favorite physical characteristic. Do they have large brown eyes, teeny-tiny feet, muscular arms, and creamy skin? They will never know if you don't tell them.

Find out who their favorite band is and buy concert tickets for them. This one gets our seal of approval.

Take a drive. Somewhere beautiful, perhaps somewhere you've never visited before. Take off without looking back.

Make them the finest sandwich on the planet. I'm talking pure perfection here: rainbow salad, pastrami, avocado, nut toast, roast onion chutney, the list goes on and on. It's the little things that count.

Candles should be placed in the front room. Obviously, you'll have to keep an eye on things; we don't want to be blamed for an aromantic suburban fire. Candlelight, on the other hand, is lovely.

Take their hand in yours! One of the oldest and sweetest forms of love expression.

Make your way to the coast. The sea is a wonderful setting.

Return them to the location where you originally met. This one might not work if you met them at sewage works, but we believe it's rather lovely for everyone else.

Purchase a new sweater for them. We all know you're meant to get them underpants, but this may go wrong in a variety of ways. The trauma of the wrong size. Issues with the wrong style. You can't go wrong with a big, oversized sweater.

Inquire about their plans for Saturday. Assist them in planning their ideal day, and then go for it.

Petals of roses. Another cliche, but one that should be tried at least once. Find your flowers and sprinkle the petals all the way from the front door to the bed. Maybe there's something else if your companion doesn't appreciate the smell of flowers. Oreo cookies spread up the stairs, for example, seem romantic to me - but I believe I am an outlier.

Let's go kite-flying together. All you need is a strong breeze and a large field to have a good time.

Make a drawing for them and put it in their lunchbox. They'll have a good laugh at work.

Go to the movies. It's an oldie, but it's a goodie.

Make a playlist for them. 20 tracks that you believe they'll enjoy or that make you think of them.

Make a photo printout. Most people today only have digital downloads of their photos, but it's good to see some really nice ones printed up and hung on the walls.

Return the cherries and the wine. In the manner of a romantic hunter-gatherer lion. Rawl!

Tell them about your predictions for the future. Will you be sitting by a fire in 30 years? Will you be spending your vacation beside the sea? Will you walk hand in hand? Imagining the future is a powerful thing. Just leave out the part about the dentures.

Be respectful of their parents. Okay, so it isn't quite romantic. However, true romance necessitates the presence of decent people, and good people are nice to others.

Carry them with you. If you're eight months pregnant or have a spinal injury, this is obviously not for you. Carrying your companion up a hill, on the other hand, is both romantic and hilarious.

They'll be bombarded. Send them a text, send them an email, or put a note on their refrigerator, bathroom mirror, or cornflakes box. Make it such that they can see that you love them in every format for just one day. Aww. But be warned: this is only for one day; otherwise, their pals will be served with a restraining order.

Make your way to the north. There are fewer people, giving you the opportunity to relax with just the two of you. Our favorite places include Oban, a tiny doll town in the Highlands, and the Lakes, both of which are close to where we reside!

Champagne and oysters. Chocolate, avocado, watermelon, almonds, asparagus, and figs are some of the most traditional foods associated with love. We definitely recommend them, though not all of them at the same time.

Send them a thank-you note. Because if they're great, you're probably owing them a lot of money. (We're not referring to the tenner they lent you last month.)

Let's get together for lunch. Even if you're both working, there's typically an opportunity to swap things around and go out for lunch and coffee once a week or once a month.

Take them to the bathroom and give them a bath. Posh bubbles and nice music get bonus points. Little candles get a triple word score.

Turn your dining room into a two-person restaurant. Put your best foot forward.

Toast with a glass of wine beside the fire. If you don't have one at home, we recommend finding a quiet pub and spending a relaxing evening there. That soft glow has a romantic feel about it.

Give yourself a good foot massage...really? Personally, I can't think of anything worse, but other people seem to enjoy it, so it's understandable. You crazy feet folks should just keep away from me.
